Employment at Boone County Arboretum
The Boone County Arboretum uses the Northern Kentucky Job Alliance (NKJA) for processing all employment applications. A general application with Boone County Fiscal Court must be completed in person at the NKJA building, located at 8020 Veteran’s Memorial Drive; Florence Kentucky 41042. You can register online prior to your visit to save time with the NKJA at: http://www.e3.ky.gov. The NKJA is open Monday – Thursday until 3:00 p.m. and Friday until noon, and can be contacted by calling (859) 371-0808.
To ensure the application reaches the Arboretum, include “Boone County Arboretum” in the desired positions field of the application. It is also suggested that candidates for Arboretum positions personally contact the Arboretum before completing the application.

Arboretum Internship
Boone County Fiscal Court is now accepting applications for flexible paid internships at the Boone County Arboretum. This internship program offers students in horticulture, landscape architecture, botany, biology or related fields, an opportunity to experience various job responsibilities in a professional environment. On–the–job instruction, educational sessions and field trips to other horticultural institutions offer a perfect complement to academic study. College credit is encouraged but must be arranged by the student. The position will entail outdoor landscape maintenance work within a 121 acre arboretum featuring computerized irrigation and GPS located plant material. Interns will gain experience in all facets of Arboretum operation but applicants should have some existing experience with plant care, plant materials, landscape maintenance, basic knowledge of irrigation systems, and pesticide application.
