0.75" long, ovoid, dry.

Fall Color:
Does not develop a good fall color.

Bark Details:
Smooth, gray to gray-brown, marked with shallow, vertical fissures.

Native Habitat:
Japan. Introduced 1879.

Other Features:
Small tree or shrub which develops dense, ascending branches. Pyramidal-oval in youth but becomes more open and rounded with age. Smooth gray twisty branches are handsome for winter effect.
