Redvein Maple

Pale green, 3" long erect racemes in May.

Fruit Details:
Samara .75" long covered with reddish-brown pubescence.

Fall Color:
Yellow-orange to red.

Bark Details:
Young bark is green with stripes, green changes to red as it matures

Native Habitat:
Japan, intoduced in 1879, Zones 5-7

Other Features:
Described as the most common of the snakebarks in cultivation.

Culture and Care:
Grows from seed, transplants readily. Can grow in full sun, but best in partial shade and moist soil.
