Nov. 30, 2023, 6-8pm
Join us for a powerhouse discussion on the status of the health of our region's trees. What lies ahead in terms of insect and disease challenges, climate adaptability, and future selections for planting? How are our current trees performing at our regional Arboreta and Botanical Gardens? We’ll answer all of these questions and more as we hear from the following panelists and their focus topics:
- Lindsey Purcell (Indiana Arborist Association) - Impacts of climate change on trees and the 4 things we can do to make a difference.
- Dr. Bill Fountain (Kentucky Arborists Association) - Species diversity and use of monotypic species, doing our due diligence with tree risk assessment and appraisal.
- Joe Boggs (Ohio State University) - Outlook on insect & and disease threats looming for our region’s forests.
Kristopher Stone, director of Boone County Arboretum, will be moderating, and a Q&A session with the panelists will follow their presentations.
